The Leeds United Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of a brand-new Pan Disability Under-12s team.
The first season for the team (2021/22) is kindly being sponsored by Leeds United supporter and well-known comedian, Jon Richardson. The longtime supporter will be funding the team, so they are able to train and compete on a regular basis, allowing them to continue improving and developing their skills.
There are still places available within the team to ensure it is as inclusive as possible, with the children currently taking part in training sessions suffering with a wide range of disabilities, both learning and physical.
There are currently 12 members of the squad that take part in weekly training sessions with qualified coaches from the club’s official charity, whilst also getting the opportunity to take part in monthly competitive tournaments within the Ability Counts League.
The team recently met at Elland Road for a special induction event along with their family members, giving them the chance to meet their new coaches, learn more about the programme and have official photos taken in the stands together for the first time.
