Amari Miller was delighted with the way in which his team performed, as they secured an impressive three points away at Oldham Athletic.

The Whites beat the Sky Bet League Two opposition and scored three goals in the process, giving themselves a chance of qualification from Northern Group B of the Papa John’s Trophy.

“I thought the boys were brilliant,” Miller explained to LUTV.

“Before the game, the manager said to us ‘make sure you get the win’ so we could push on and go to Salford, to then try and do the exact same thing.

“We’ve got a brilliant group of lads, we know what we’re capable of, we can do it and I don’t doubt us to go out there and do it the next time we play in this competition.”

Miller wasn’t surprised at the amount of attacking throughout the match and the creating of a number of chances, whilst also praising the management of the game.

He said: “We’ve got the quality to go forward and score goals, to create chances.

“It’s just taking our chances, which I feel like we did take a lot of them today.

“It’s also about managing the game. I feel like in previous games that’s probably one thing that hasn’t helped us because we want to go, go, go all the time.

“We just said to ourselves that today we need to manage the game, get the three points, and nothing was more important.

“We didn’t look out of place and I feel we did everything well.”
