Leeds United Under-21s are back in Premier League 2 action on Monday, as they welcome Sunderland Under-21s to the LNER Community Stadium in York.

The Whites have picked up 10 points from their opening nine fixtures this term, finding themselves sitting 20th in the restructured Premier League 2 standings, although with games in hand on sides around them in the table.

Scott Gardner’s side were in action last week in the Premier League International Cup tournament, bowing out of the competition after defeat against reigning champions PSV Eindhoven Under-21s.

The Whites narrowly missed out on qualification for the quarter finals, having beaten Hertha BSC and OGC Nice earlier in the group stages.

Sunderland have enjoyed an impressive start to the season in the Premier League 2 and go into the game looking to make it five wins in seven outings.

Coached by former Rangers boss Graeme Murty, the Black Cats sit 12th in the Premier League 2 table, having picked up five wins, two draws and three losses from their 10 games this campaign.

The Wearsiders were victorious on the road last time out, winning 5-0 away at Nottingham Forest with goals from Tom Watson, Michael Spellman, Caden Kelly adding to an earlier Eliezer Mayenda brace.
