Leeds United Under-21s will play their final Premier League 2 match before the international break on Monday afternoon, when they take on Newcastle United Under-21s (1pm).

The Whites will kick-off at Thorp Arch sitting top of the PL2 Division 2 table, aiming to extend their unbeaten run to nine matches - in what has been an exciting campaign so far.

Newcastle are currently fifth after nine matches played and they still have the possibility of going into the World Cup break in second position, if they win on Monday and results go their way elsewhere.

Michael Skubala’s side have won seven and drawn just the one from their eight games so far, scoring a thoroughly impressive 29 goals in those matches. Mateo Joseph has netted 11 of them, whilst summer arrival Sonny Perkins has seven up to now.

For Monday’s visitors, goal-scoring midfielder Dylan Stephenson is top of their charts up to now. He has five goals, but also provides plenty of attacking threat to help others, too.

Leeds are top of the league with 22 points and will remain there over the break, whatever the outcome of today’s match. However, a win could extend their five point lead over West Bromwich Albion to eight points!

“We’ve got one game left before the break, we’ve been doing well and we want to keep going. It’s going to be a tough season as other teams are doing well around us. We need to keep pushing and trying to get three points, as best as we can.”
