Leeds United Under-21s return to Premier League 2 action with an exciting clash against Brighton & Hove Albion Under-21s on Sunday in York.
It has been almost a month since Scott Gardner’s side featured in the PL2, where they were held to a 2-2 draw away at West Bromwich Albion despite goals from Lewis Pirie and Devon Brockie.
The pick of the results since came on European duties as the Whites impressively beat Basque outfit Athletic Club B to maintain their 100 per cent start to the group stage campaign.
In that clash, skipper Alfie Cresswell fired his side into the lead with an emphatic finish before a superb strike from Logan White secured victory over the Spanish team.
United sit 13th in the PL2 standings after six matches having won three times, just a point behind Sunday’s opposition and with a game in hand, knowing they could move as high as eighth with a victory.
Brighton have also recorded three wins so far this term but fell to a 3-1 defeat last time out against Ipswich Town, as Ben Barclay’s second half goal proved to be nothing more than a consolation for Shannon Ruth’s team.
The sides met towards the end of last season in York with James Debayo rescuing a point for the hosts with an equaliser deep into added time.
Action from the LNER Community Stadium gets underway at 3pm.
