Leeds United Under-21s will play their second Premier League 2 match of the 2023/24 campaign on Friday evening, taking on rivals Manchester United Under-21s.
The game is a second successive away clash for Michael Skubala’s side, which gets underway from 7pm at Old Trafford.
On the opening day of the campaign a week ago, the Whites ran out winners against as strong Brighton & Hove Albion Under-21s side.
Despite going behind shortly after kick-off, Skubala’s side were impressive throughout and ended up taking the three points, thanks to a 4-2 win. The goals that day came from Luca Thomas who netted an excellent hat-trick, whilst Morten Spencer wrapped up the win with a superb solo effort in stoppage time.
Friday’s opponents also had a tough away trip to begin their season, and they had an equally exciting game, away at Crystal Palace.
The Red Devils took the lead through Mateo Mejia’s penalty, before the hosts equalised on the stroke of half-time. Palace then took the lead themselves in the game before Man Utd equalised in stoppage time through Noam Emeran. However, the Eagles then won it, netting the winner in the 97th minute.
