Leeds United Under-18s are back in Premier League North action this weekend, as they take on high-flying Manchester City at Thorp Arch (13:00).
The Whites go into the match against the league leaders, looking to return to winning ways after a couple of tough defeats lately.
The last time these two teams met was at the City Football Academy in November. A thoroughly entertaining 3-3 draw was the result in a match that saw Scott Gardner’s side fight from two goals behind to secure a point, late in the game.
City have managed to jump above Blackburn at the top, after four consecutive wins. Rovers still have a game in hand and can draw level on points, as the title battle continues.
Leeds are currently 10th in the table but three points for any side in a congested middle order would see the places change dramatically. Just six points separate Sunderland in sixth, from Burnley in 12th.
Luca Thomas has overtaken Ben Andreucci in the scoring charts, with six goals from eight matches this season, whilst his strike partner has five.
Saturday’s visitors have three players; Luca Barrington, Dan Ogwuru and Adedire Mebude all equal on six goals each and they will need to be watched closely.
The match gets underway at 13:00 at Thorp Arch and there will be a report and reaction to follow on leedsunited.com, after the conclusion of the match.
