Robin Koch joined around 50 participants on Tuesday afternoon ahead of Time To Talk Day to discuss the importance of making health and wellbeing a priority.
The defender was on hand at Thorp Arch following his training session to sit down with staff and participants from a programme delivered by the NHS who will be linking up with the Leeds United Foundation on the various health and wellbeing initiatives they are currently running.
During the Zoom session, a number of people were able to speak with the German international to ask him how he deals with difficult situations, how he dealt with life through the pandemic and moving to a new country, whether the team ever openly discuss the topic of mental health and what motivates him to look after both his mental and physical health.
Following the call, the Leeds United defender spoke to LUTV and said: “It is always great to meet and speak with people here in Leeds and I really enjoyed answering some of their questions today.
“It is always a difficult thing to talk about but like I said on the call, if anyone in the team ever needed to talk they know the rest of the team are ready to listen, the most important thing is to talk to those around you, especially your friends, family and colleagues. Hopefully I was able to help someone today.”
Time to Talk Day (3rd February 2022) is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation and it’s the day that friends, families, communities, and workplaces can come together to talk, listen and change lives.
The annual campaign was launched in 2014 and since then it has worked to put an end to mental health stigma and discrimination.
The day itself is all about creating supportive communities. We all have mental health, and by talking about it we can support ourselves and others.
