Scott Gardner’s Under 18s side will take on Burnley in the Premier League North this weekend, as they travel away from home for the lunchtime kick-off (13:00).

The Whites will be looking to bounce back after back-to-back defeats in their last two games, but Gardner has been quick to point out that he has been pleased with the performances of his side of late.

Having recently seen a number of the team step up to Under-23 level in midweek, Leeds will now look to take on a Burnley side that are towards the top end of the table.

With a win, a draw and a loss up to now, the Clarets occupy third place in the standings, in what is proving to be a tight league. Top scorer for Saturday’s hosts it Michael Mellon, who has netted three in three matches.

The match gets underway at 13:00 at the Barnfield Training Centre and there will be a report and reaction to follow on leedsunited.com following the conclusion of the match.

What has Scott Gardner said, ahead of the match?

“Performance wise, we have been pleased with what the lads have done, but in the last two matches we’ve been disappointed with the results. It highlights the importance at both ends of the pitch and Saturday is an opportunity to put that right. We know what Burnley will be looking to do, and likewise they will know what we will be planning. We expect another tough test against them.”
