Switzerland’s Nations League campaign awaits Elvedi

Swiss to face North Macedonia, Scotland and Slovenia

Leeds United defender Nico Elvedi has been named in the Switzerland squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures.

The 29-year-old centre-back has 73 international caps and was a key member of the Rossocrociati squad at this summer's World Cup, playing every minute of their campaign as they reached the quarter-finals.

Born in Zurich, Elvedi made his Switzerland debut in 2016 and has established himself as a regular at international level.

Switzerland begin their Nations League campaign away to North Macedonia on Saturday 26 September, with kick-off at 7.45pm GMT in Skopje. They then travel to Glasgow to face Scotland on Tuesday 29 September.

The Swiss will then host Slovenia at the Thermoplan Arena in Lucerne on Saturday 3 October, before welcoming North Macedonia to the same venue on Tuesday 6 October. Both matches kick off at 7.45pm GMT.
