The match officials for Leeds United’s Premier League clash with Sunderland on Sunday afternoon have been announced, with Tony Harrington set to take charge at the Stadium of Light.
The Select Group official is in his fifth season in the Premier League. In that time, the 42-year-old has overseen 44 top-flight matches beginning with a 2021 meeting between Brighton & Hove Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Cleveland-native has worked his way up the English football pyramid, with almost 300 EFL league matches officiated. In their 16 games refereed by Harrington, the Whites have won six times and drawn on five occasions.
The Black Cats, meanwhile, have recorded three wins in their five matches overseen by the referee, drawing two. In their last match to involve Harrington, Sunderland won 1-0 away at Nottingham Forest in September.
On the official’s last visit to Elland Road, the home side beat Bournemouth 4-3 in the Premier League in 2022. Rodrigo, Sam Greenwood, Liam Cooper and Crysencio Summerville were all on target for the Whites.
Keeping up with the action from Stockley Park is Video Assistant Referee Matthew Donohue and Additional VAR Timothy Wood.
