Stuart Dallas gave his reaction to LUTV, after scoring in the win over Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road.
Playing on the wing this afternoon, Dallas once again showed his versatility and also his eye for a goal, as he got the scoring underway by netting in the 13th minute and helped his team to bounce back from defeat last weekend.
“I think we owed a performance,” Dallas explained.
“Last week we were well below the standards we have set ourselves throughout the season. We were disappointed we didn’t put in a performance last week so it was important we bounced back today.
“I thought from the very first minute we were on it today. We were pressing, had aggression to win the ball back and when we were on the ball the quality was there.
“I think in the first half we dominated the game, we were disappointed how we conceded the goal of course.
“Possibly got a bit of luck with the Harry Kane goal being offside, but we’ve been on the end of a few decisions this season so it’s nice to get a bit of luck and then the third goal really killed it off in the end.
“I thought it was a dominant display from us.”
Firing home in the first half from close range, the Northern Irishman scored his eight goal of what has been an excellent campaign for him.
Dallas said: “I am delighted, I was playing in a different position again today, playing as a winger and rolling back the years!
“I was in the right place at the right time and fortunately it went in. I could have had a second late on, it was a great save.
“I am delighted first and foremost that I got the goal but for the team as well, it’s important that we don’t just settle for the position we’re in this year.
“Going in to today we had four games left, we want to finish as high up in the table as possible and that’s a great start for us, gives us great confidence going into the last three games.”
