Stuart Dallas and Alfie McCalmont Named in Northern Ireland Squad

Ian Baraclough calls up Leeds United duo for Malta and Ukraine fixtures

Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough has called up Leeds United duo Stuart Dallas and Alfie McCalmont for their forthcoming international challenge matches.

Stuart Dallas has been in inspired form this season, winning the treble at Sunday's awards ceremony, after being voted the Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year, whilst winning Goal of the Season for his strike against Man City.

Dallas has been ever present in Leeds' first season back in the top flight, playing all 38 games with only one of those not for the full 90 minutes.

Featuring at left-back, right-back, defensive midfield, attacking midfield and right midfield across the course of the year, Dallas helped the Whites reach 9th place with his eight goals and two assists.

McCalmont has impressed during his loan spell at Oldham this season. The midfielder was a key part of their League Two, FA Cup and EFL Trophy campaigns, making 39 appearances for the Latics, notching up 10 goals and 4 assists.

The young midfielder also gained the distinction of scoring 5 goals outside the box, with only Scott Twine (Swindon), Lionel Messi (Barcelona) and Lorenzo Insigne (Napoli) racking up more in UEFA's Top 5 leagues and the EFL.

Baraclough’s squad are currently in Austria preparing for the behind closed doors friendly against Malta, which is now being staged at the Wörthersee Stadium in Klagenfurt on Sunday 30th May (5pm).

From there the squad will travel to Ukraine for a challenge match at the Dnipro Arena on Thursday 3rd May (7pm).
