The Leeds United Foundation recently launched a Development Centre programme that will begin in September for young aspiring male footballers.

The first session will take place on Wednesday 11th September at The Grammar School at Leeds from 6pm to 8pm and there are still spaces available for youngsters to sign-up.

Coaches from the programme will also be holding an open day and induction ahead of the first session at Elland Road on Friday 23rd August at 6pm. This will give participants and parents the chance to meet the staff that will deliver the Development Centres and ask any important questions.

The programme is for Under-8 to Under-15 players and will become a referral unit for the Leeds United Academy, providing an equal opportunity for young boys with a good work ethic and potential in the sport to develop within a professional environment.

The vision for the Development Centre is to create a safe environment and high standards for all those involved with qualified staff encouraging individuals to reach their potential, work towards success, improve their skills and develop their confidence, leadership and levels of commitment to the sport.

All youngsters and coaches involved with the project will adopt the values and beliefs of respect, honesty, loyalty, commitment and hard work; which in turn will help the young players become well-rounded individuals.

The Development Centre will be an additional professional training programme to run alongside training and fixtures with their grassroots clubs. Every player will receive a Leeds United Foundation kit and each individual will be reviewed over the season.
