The Leeds United Foundation have launched a new block of Development Centres for young aspiring female footballers, with various locations available across Yorkshire.
The main aim for the Girls Development Centre programme is to encourage girls at a grassroots level to join the female pathway within the club and Foundation, where we offer technical sessions that follow topics that are parallel to our other development centres.
Each session is based on individualised coaching, providing opportunities for female players to improve not only their footballing skills and technique but also their confidence and creativity, covering all aspects of the game.
Those participating will be able to continue playing for their grassroots teams, whilst also taking part in the weekly Development Centre sessions - combining the additional training scheme with their own grassroots schedule for maximum support.
This programme will also continue to identify talent to progress up the female pathway into the Shadow Squad and then onto the Academy based within the Foundation set-up, with coaches delivering the sessions able to offer trials for players that are thriving.
The weekly one-hour sessions are currently taking place across various locations in Yorkshire, including Leeds, Wakefield, Halifax and Pontefract.
