Leeds United Women maintained their fine run of early season form with another high scoreline on Sunday, beating Chorley Women 5-0.
A brace from Darcie Greene, alongside Ellie White's rocket, Alice Hughes' header and an own goal forced by Monique Watson helped the Whites secure all three points over the Lancashire outfit, as well as making it four consecutive wins and 17 goals scored across them.
After the game, Simon Wood said: "I think at the final whistle it was good because we've got a performance, we've got a result there that's matched a lot of our targets are that we've set out in preseason and this is the big thing about us at the minute.
"We have started well, but again we just said there to the players, it's one game down, another one ticked off, and now we reset and we get ready for the next game and we're going do that all the way through the season.
"I thought second half we were outstanding. You saw that, when Ellie gets her strike and once that goal goes in, we started dominating the game like we know we could.
"We've got to make sure that we're almost perfect throughout every game, and if we're not perfect, there's someone that's running forward to make us perfect. That's the big emphasis on the team, it's not about one player making the correct choice, it's about 11 players out there making the correct choice.
"I think if we get that right more often than not we've got some quality out there that can win us games."
Next up is Huddersfield Town Women in Group T of the League Cup. On that fixture, the boss added: "Huddersfield were competitive last year. They won our league and credit to them for that, they deserved it over the course of the season. It's a good distraction for us because it allows us to look at where players are up to.
"We're using that competition like we should be using it, where we're not letting any distractions from what our targets are in the league, but we're letting it be a healthy distraction in the sense where we can look at people's minutes, we can get people game time, so our prep now is looking ahead."
