Leeds United Women’s boss Simon Wood has been nominated for the FA WNL Manager of the Month award for September, following a flawless month.

The month began with the visit of West Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town Women to the BD Community Stadium in Group T of the FA WNL Cup, where the Whites set the tone with a comfortable 3-0 victory.

The following week, Leeds demonstrated their quality with a 4-2 win over high-flying Stockport County Women, before a professional performance saw Bradford City Women defeated 2-0 on the road.

The Bantams were the Whites’ opponents once more a week later, this time in the FA WNL Cup, where the visitors again claimed all three points to secure progression to the knockout stages.

Following their table-topping Group T campaign, Leeds were drawn away to Liverpool Feds in the next round and currently sit top of the FA WNL Division One North, having beaten Norton & Stockton Ancients at home the day before Wood’s nomination.

Alongside Wood, the other nominees are Craige Richardson of Barnsley Women, Jason Stephens of Actonians Women and Steve Perkins of Bridgewater United Women.
