Four unanswered goals saw Leeds United Women storm to victory over Yorkshire rivals Doncaster Rovers Belles to extend their impressive unbeaten run.
The result takes Simon Wood’s side to fourth in the Division One North standings, just four points adrift of early pace setters Cheadle Town in the hunt for promotion.
Speaking to LUTV after the full-time whistle at the Bannister Prentice Stadium, the boss was thrilled his team were able to continue their momentum.
“I think today you saw the elements of us as an attacking force and I think in the first half we played extremely well and we went at Doncaster.
“We spoke about it in the changing room before, wanting to make a quick start, wanting to be aggressive about how we played, wanting to really go and dominate a game.
“And I think in the first 45 minutes you saw that from the moment the game kicked off. We were pressing, we were attacking and it was one thing we really wanted to get right from the weekend where I think we lost our shape a little bit at the start of the second half on Sunday.
“We wanted to make sure the shape was good today and the shape allowed us to play and credit to the players.
“They followed what we spoke about in training last night and they put it into play there and then in the second half we came out and I think we dominated the game again. A really pleasing performance from the effort and the intensity that the players put in.
“It is momentum. We come out and it is as simple as every game we play, we want to be competitive.
“And every game we play, we want to go out and perform for the club and represent the badge. And I think at the minute, we are in a really good place where we are being competitive. And you see that from performances.
“Today was important to follow Sunday’s win, where we got a high scoreline, to go and do that again.”
