Leeds United Women racked up a fifth win on the bounce as they defeated Stockport County Women 4-2 on Sunday.

Creating a two-point gap at the top of the table, as well as making it 25 goals scored across the first five of the campaign, Whites captain Shauna Legge spoke to LUTV post-match.

"Just really happy with the performance and how everyone has dug in together," the skipper began.

"It was a bit crazy at the end of the game there, so just really happy with the result and it's what we've been working towards. Buzzing for everyone."

On Leeds' ruthless displays in front of goal, the centre-half added: "It's bits that we've worked on from last year where we were sort of struggling to score and lacked a bit of creativity in the final third, but we've definitely improved on that, so we're really happy with that.

"With the clean sheet, it's not always going to be possible. Obviously it's a nice little run that we've had, but Stockport are a good side so we just got the win so really happy."

Three goals came in quick succession around the 70th-minute mark, two for the opposition, but the Whites' ability to adapt was the difference maker explains Legge.

"It was a bit of a crazy ending, but like I just said to the girls in the huddle there, it shows that we can play in different ways when we need to.

"We'd like to attack, but also we can dig deep and defend as well and be hard to break down and that's what we did there at the end to settle it down and manage the game.

"This one is done now, we'll have a good week of training and move on to Bradford next week in the league, and hopefully get another three points."
