The match officials for Leeds United’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Queens Park Rangers on Saturday have been announced, with Matthew Donohue set to take charge at Elland Road.
Since focusing on refereeing in 2016 after a stint as an assistant, Donohue has risen up the divisions from the National League circuit, going on to take charge of two Premier League fixtures towards the end of last season.
In just four matches refereed by the Greater Manchester-based referee, the Whites have won twice, drawn once and tasted defeat once. Those two victories both came last term – a 1-0 triumph over Norwich at Elland Road and a 2-0 success away at Plymouth Argyle’s Home Park.
Queens Park Rangers, meanwhile, have enjoyed good form when the referee has been involved, winning six of their 12 outings and losing just twice.
So far this campaign, Donohue has taken charge of eight matches in the Sky Bet Championship, where he has handed out two red cards, as well as a Carabao Cup second round clash between Crystal Palace and Norwich City.
During the week, Donohue officiated Luton Town's narrow victory over Cardiff City at Kenilworth Road.
