Preview: Leeds United vs West Bromwich Albion

Whites return to Sky Bet Championship action.

Elland Road

Leeds United return to Sky Bet Championship action on Saturday, as they welcome West Bromwich Albion to Elland Road for a lunchtime encounter.

The Whites go into the clash in fine form, with last-gasp memorable winners in their previous two outings ensuring their impressive winning run continued.

A goal behind on home soil, a double from Pascal Struijk, the second coming deep into stoppage time, brought a scintillating 2-1 victory over Sunderland.

Daniel Farke’s side then followed that up with an equally exciting and impressive success over Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United last time out!

Junior Firpo’s superb header levelled proceedings in the second half at Bramall Lane, before efforts from Ao Tanaka and Joël Piroe won it late on, sending the fantastic travelling support into raptures.

The three points in the Steel City kept the Whites at the summit of the Sky Bet Championship standings, with West Brom back in fifth.

Following Carlos Corberán’s departure, swapping The Hawthorns for Valencia CF’s Mestalla back in December, the Baggies hierarchy turned to the experienced Tony Mowbray to oversee their promotion push.

The Black Country outfit have picked up two wins in their previous five Sky Bet Championship fixtures, most recently beating Oxford United 2-0 thanks to goals from former Leeds man Alex Mowatt and John Swift.

The two teams have already met once this campaign, with the August encounter ending in a goalless draw in the West Midlands.

Action from Elland Road gets underway at 12:30pm.
