Preview: Leeds United vs QPR

Whites back in Championship action.

Elland Road east stand

Leeds United will be keen to get back to winning ways as they welcome Queens Park Rangers to Elland Road in Saturday’s 3pm Sky Bet Championship kick-off.

Last time out at home, the Whites put on a scintillating display to dismantle Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle.

First-half goals from Dan James, Joel Piroe and Brenden Aaronson saw United take a commanding lead at the break, before seeing out the second 45 to claim an important three points.

Fortunes differed midweek however, when Daniel Farke’s side fell to defeat at the hands of Millwall away from home, despite enjoying large spells of possession in the capital.

Those results leave Leeds sitting third in the Championship standings, just two points adrift of Sheffield United in second place.

Queens Park Rangers, meanwhile, have struggled for form this campaign under boss Martí Cifuentes and find themselves in 23rd position, just one point above bottom club Portsmouth.

In their previous outing at home against Middlesbrough, the London outfit were heavily beaten by the Teessiders at Loftus Road.

Before that defeat however, the Hoops had kept clean sheets in back-to-back draws with high-flying Burnley and Sunderland.

The same fixture last campaign saw the Whites run out 1-0 victors thanks to a well worked early goal last October.

Action from Elland Road gets underway at 3pm.

Tributes:

Leeds United Football Club will pay its respects to those who have served our country on Saturday as we take on Queens Park Rangers in the Sky Bet Championship, with a special tribute and moment of silence held prior to kick off.

Our dedicated Remembrance fixture will feature a number of activities as we commemorate the sacrifices of servicemen and women, past and present, which you can read more about HERE.

Both sets of supporters are also asked to come together in the 12th minute, to pay respects to Leeds United supporter Jack Johnson who sadly passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, aged 12. Rest in peace Jack, you will never be forgotten.

Half time:

Dr. Mark Prince OBE will be a guest at the game against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday. We ask for both sets of supporters to welcome him out onto the pitch at half-time, where the 'Positive Choices' video will be played on our big screen.

During the week, Dr. Prince visited Corpus Christie College in Leeds to deliver a powerful talk on Knife Crime, combining the Kiyan Prince Foundation and Leeds United Foundation together.

Dr. Prince tragically saw his son Kiyan murdered in 2006 and ever since, he has positively impacted on young lives across the country, to try and end knife crime on our streets. You can read more about the school visit, HERE.
