Leeds United Women are back in FA Women’s National League Cup action on Sunday, visiting league-above Hull City Ladies in the first round of the competition.
The Whites have enjoyed success in the Plate tier of the League Cup, being crowned winners in the 2022/23 season after defeating Stourbridge 3-1 in Solihull.
Leeds entered the draw after topping Group U on seven points, with victory at home to Halifax in the opening clash, a draw away at Norton & Stockton Ancients, and a comfortable 5-2 beating of York City.
Our opponents topped Group S on seven points as well, beating Doncaster Rovers Belles 5-1 and Sheffield United Academy 6-1, before a draw in the final fixture at Barnsley.
Last time out, Simon Wood’s side took all three points in the league away at Huddersfield Town Women, as Amy Woodruff cut inside, beat her marker and slotted into the bottom corner five minutes from full time.
Our hosts are coming into the clash off the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Derby County Women, as Hope Knight’s first half opener was cancelled out by Olivia Edwards’ equaliser ten minutes after the restart.
Leeds currently sit fifth on 11 points in Division One North, whereas the hosts have amassed eight points in the Northern Premier Division, putting them in sixth place in the league above.
Action from the Versa Sportswear Stadium gets underway at 2pm.

The view from inside the camp:
Speaking ahead of the clash, midfielder Monique Watson said: “Hull aren’t ones to be taken lightly – they’re strong, they’re physical, and they’ve got some very good, technically gifted players.
“It's important that we build momentum, so whether we're going to play the top teams or teams at the bottom the outcome is still the same.
“It's about building momentum and kind of getting a good run of results behind us because it gives us confidence.”
