Preview: Doncaster Rovers Belles vs Leeds United Women

Whites in midweek action.

Huddle vs Blackburn

Leeds United Women head to across Yorkshire to face Doncaster Rovers Belles in the FA WNL Division One North, following their dramatic late win against Blackburn Rovers Women.

In their quest for promotion, Simon Wood’s side will be aiming to complete the double over the hosts after their comfortable 4-0 win back in October’s reverse fixture, which saw Leeds dominate the tie.

Drew Greene and Sian Gibrill-Keating converted early in the first half, before Ellie White and Emily Cassidy secured all three points in the second.

Leeds also defeated Doncaster on penalties during their pre-season fixture, which saw the hosts retain the Julie Chipchase Trophy.

At the weekend, late added-time goals from Amy Woodruff and substitute Kath Smith saw The Whites claim all three points as they continued to maintain pace with promotion rivals Huddersfield Town - who are currently level on 33 points.

Doncaster produced a second half comeback to earn a point at home to Stockport County which now sees them one point adrift from York City who have a game in-hand.

A victory for Leeds will keep the pressure on Huddersfield at the top of the league, who next face Stockport County after their County Cup tie with Barnsley Women this weekend.

Action from the SL2 Rail Stadium gets underway at 7.45pm.
