Leeds United Women make their much-anticipated return to FA WNL Division One North action when they travel across the Pennines to face Chorley Women away from home.
Simon Wood’s side have been in scintillating form over their previous four matches on league duties, beating Durham Cestria and Doncaster Rovers Belles at the Bannister Prentice Stadium initially.
The Whites then had to dig deep to overcome a strong Cheadle Town outfit away from home, before cruising past Barnsley on derby day last time out to earn the local bragging rights, thanks to goals from Amy Woodruff and Alice Hughes.
Those results leave United three points adrift of Chorley having played one game fewer, with Leeds knowing they can go above their second-placed opposition with a win on Sunday in their pursuit of table-topping Middlesbrough.
Having struggled for consistency in a campaign that brought only seven victories last time round, this season has seen Carmelo Ruggieri’s Chorley already record six wins from nine matches to date, falling to defeat just twice.
In the same fixture last term, the Whites were denied all three points when Katie Astle's first-half opener was cancelled out by Isabel Catlow's finish after the break.
Action from Euxton Villa gets underway at 2pm.
