Leeds United begin their 2022/23 Emirates FA Cup campaign away at Cardiff City on Sunday afternoon, 2pm, in a match live on ITV.
Ahead of the match, Cardiff City have released the following supporter information for Leeds United supporters attending the game. Please click here to read more.
The Whites enter the competition at the third round stage along with their opponents, who will now be battling it out to join many others in the fourth round draw which takes place straight after full-time at the Cardiff City Stadium.
It’s a change from league action for both teams who will be looking to get back to winning ways, after not tasting a victory in their last few matches. The Bluebirds are 20th in the Championship table whilst Leeds are 14th in the Premier League.
Both teams have tasted FA Cup success in their history, but both were many years ago. Cardiff lifted the trophy in 1927, but did reach the final again as recently as 2008. Of course, United famously added their name to the cup in 1972.
The home side have had success recently in matches against Leeds. Four wins and a draw from the last five games followed on from three straight success for the Whites. The teams have met plenty of times over recent seasons, but this is the first one since June 2020.
Last time out at home to West Ham United, Willy Gnonto scored his first goal for the club, whilst Rodrigo got his 10th of the campaign. Top scorer for the home side currently across all competitions is Mark Harris, the 24-year-old Wales international has three to his name.
Over 6,000 Leeds fans have made the journey to South Wales and will make themselves heard as always, in the 33,280 capacity ground. The match is live on ITV for supporters who haven’t been able to travel.

Leeds: Jesse Marsch
What has Jesse Marsch said, ahead of the match?
“I think it’s really important to understand that for both teams it’s really important. We expect the best out of Cardiff and it won’t be easy. When we got draw, we weren’t happy as it will be a very difficult game.”
Top scorer:
Cardiff: Mark Harris (3)
Leeds: Rodrigo (10)
Team news:
Jesse Marsch has confirmed that Patrick Bamford, Luis Sinisterra and Stuart Dallas remain on the sidelines, with Adam Forshaw also a doubt for the weekend. Other than that, the head coach has plenty of decisions to make on his selection.
The home side have doubts of their own in the squad. Callum Robinson, Gavin Whyte and Cedric Kipre could remain out after recent illness, whilst Mahlon Romeo is a longer term problem.
