The Leeds United Foundation Premier League Kicks team recently hosted an exclusive fundraising event to raise funds for Children In Need.

Families and youngsters from the Saxton Garden Kicks programme and Ebor Gardens Kicks programme, along with guests from another organisation delivered by Stacy Hubbard, called Seacroft On Top, were all in attendance at Mount St Mary’s Catholic High School to take part in the various activities.

Coaches from the club’s official charity ran a football tournament for the young people to get involved in along with training drills for a wide range of age groups, helping those there to improve their skills and develop their footballing ability.

To help raise funds for the annual Children In Need, there was a bake sale arranged by members of the local community, along with a raffle and teas and coffee donated for sale on the evening.

Leeds United mascot Kop Cat was also in attendance to have photos and meet all of the youngsters involved in the session.

The Premier League Kicks programme started in 2006 and has a long history of using the power of football and the value of sports participation to help youngsters in some of the most high-need areas.

By engaging them in constructive activities, including a wide variety of sports, coaching, music and educational and personal development sessions, communities up and down the country have been transformed with impressive football and sports participation rates and the authorities reporting significant reductions in anti-social behaviour in the areas in which it is delivered.

The scheme has also enabled thousands of youngsters to find routes into education, training and employment with volunteering being a key component.

A massive well done to everyone involved in the fundraising event, with over £350 raised for Children In Need.
