The Leeds United Foundation are hoping to launch a fourth girls only Development Centre at The Grammar School Leeds for young females aged 7-15.

The sessions will begin on a two-week trial basis, with one session taking place on Monday 1st December and a second on Monday 8th December, with the programme then set to launch after Christmas.

The main aim for the Development Centre initiative is to increase participation with females in football – offering young girls who are interested in playing the sport and developing their skills the opportunity to do so and be a part of the Leeds United Girls Pathway.

This programme has been designed to find and nurture talent from a young age within our region, providing a platform for the girls to perform at their best level after receiving first-class coaching and support.

The Development Centre programme is for females only, with one training session taking place each week with qualified coaches from the club’s official charity. For those that wish to continue playing football there will also be the opportunity to progress into the Girls Academy within the Foundation and the Shadow Squad.

Sessions are based on individualised coaching, providing the opportunity for players to improve not only their skills and technique but also confidence, covering all aspects of the game. This means that the sessions are training specific as opposed to including small games for the players to take part in – each player can therefore continue to play for a local grassroots team whilst training among the Leeds United Foundation Development Centres.
