The match officials for Leeds United’s Sky Bet Championship opener against Portsmouth on Saturday have been announced, with Oliver Langford set to take charge at Elland Road.
The opener will kick off Langford’s 15th season as an EFL referee, with the West Midland’s based official having been in the middle of 28 Sky Bet Championship matches last campaign.
The Whites have won 11 of the 22 fixtures refereed by Langford, drawing three and losing eight, beginning with a 1-1 draw against Brentford back in 2010.
Last season, the Group 2 official took charge of three league matches played by Daniel Farke's side: a 1-1 draw at Rotherham United, a 3-0 victory away at Cardiff City, and a 1-0 home triumph over Stoke City in March.
Langford hasn't taken charge of a Portsmouth fixture since a 5-1 demolition of Bradford City at Fratton Park in 2019 – their third win from eight matches.
