Pablo Hernandez is a regular visitor to the Leeds United Foundation cerebral palsy football sessions and he was on hand to make another special visit on International Disability Day.

The Leeds United attacking midfielder last visited the group of youngsters that are either a framed user or suffer with cerebral palsy in September and promised to return for another game of football with them soon.

During the visit on Tuesday evening the 34-year-old handed out Leeds United shirts to all of the players in attendance, with 'Hernandez, 19' inscribed on the back, as a small gesture to show his admiration for their love of football and how much they enjoy life even through some of the toughest circumstances.

Hernandez and his family stayed throughout the hour-long session that was held at the Ramgarhia Sikh Sport Centre, taking part in a football match and penalty shoot-out and spending time having photos taken and signing autographs.

The Leeds United fan favourite spoke to LUTV during the visit and said: “It is always so special coming to see these children, every time I have been it has always been so enjoyable to watch and play football with them.

“I felt an obligation to do something for these kids to show them they are so special and to keep playing and enjoying their football.”

The Leeds United Foundation deliver a number of disability programmes every day throughout the city, giving youngsters with varying disabilities the opportunity to play football that otherwise they may not have. The disability coaches also spend time supporting other organisations by hosting fun and engaging activities that offer like-minded children and adults the chance to exercise and socialise.
