Recently, Leeds United Under-21s goalkeeper Oliver Wood penned a new two-year deal with the club, his first professional contract.

Last season, the stopper enjoyed several impressive performances for the Under-18s, alongside gaining important experience in the U21s squad.

"it's a pleasure," the stopper said. "I've been here since I was 10, and it's always been the goal. It's a privilege, and hopefully it's the first of many.

"I remember as a kid, when we were Under-10s, 11s, 12s, we were always the unbeaten group. We went back-to-back futsal final winners. We know we've all grown, we've all done our own thing, but most of us are still together, so it's good that a lot of the lads are still with us as well.

"I think when you go through with a whole squad, I think the bond just gets stronger and stronger."

Thanking those who have aided him to this point, Oliver added: "Everyone plays their own part, whether it's teaching me the techniques I know, or even as simple as just getting me there, getting me to training every couple of days. So, I know it's a privilege.

"I always want to represent the club as best as possible and give my 100% on and off the pitch."
