Recently, former player Noel Whelan and Lucas the Kop Cat joined the Leeds United Foundation at Weavers Court in Yeadon to help celebrate Care Home Awareness Week.
The week of action, spanning from the 15th June to the 21st June, is a nationwide UK initiative designed to connect care homes with their local communities, dismiss common myths and celebrate the incredible work of care professionals.
During the week, care homes open their doors to host activities, involve the community and showcase the day-to-day lives of residents. This year's theme was the World Cup, featuring a range of activities designed to bring people together and promote engagement, wellbeing and connection.
Weavers Court is a luxury care home based in Yeadon, West Yorkshire, providing residents with amenities such as a café, cinema room and hair and beauty salon, providing attendees with the best possible experience.
The event was a huge success, and the Leeds United Foundation were on hand to present Weavers Court with a Leeds United shirt signed by the squad which was kindly donated by the club.
The visit was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the dedication of care home staff and residents while strengthening connections between the community and charity arm of the club.
