Speaking to LUTV after scoring the second goal in Leeds United’s 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest, Swiss attacker Noah Okafor was delighted the team picked up all three points.
Alongside efforts from Jayden Bogle and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Okafor’s first-half finish sent a raucous Elland Road into raptures on what was another memorable evening under the lights.
“You see it on my smile, I think it was a really important game for us,” the forward said. “From the first second on, we knew we had to be ready. We gave everything and we are really, really happy about the three points.
“I feel really comfortable. Every morning when I wake up, I go to the training with a smile. So, I think we have an unbelievable atmosphere in the dressing room, in training each and every day.
“I think this shows us also the performance on the pitch. Now we have just to keep going like this and train every day hard and looking forward for the next game.
“I try to show my quality and challenge the opponent each and every moment of the game. That is part of my game and, in the end, when I can assist and score and help the team with three points is, it is amazing.
“I am always happy when I score. It gives me the confidence. I worked hard for this. I try to get better every day but I am more happy about the three points!”
Okafor also discussed the growing understanding he has with his teammates, particularly centre-forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin and full-back Gabriel Gudmundsson.
“I think it is normal in the first games that we have to know each other a little bit better, and this comes with each and every training and game.
“Dom is a top striker. I am on and off the pitch really good with him so we understand each other well. Also on the left side with Gabi, he is an unbelievable full-back.”
