Carrick Njinko has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for August after an impressive run of goals for Leeds United U21s.

The forward scored four times during the month, including a hat-trick against West Bromwich Albion and a goal against Liverpool.

Leeds recorded one win, one draw and one defeat from their three Premier League 2 fixtures in August, with Njinko proving a key attacking threat throughout the month.

His hat-trick against West Brom came in a standout individual performance before he found the net again against Liverpool in Leeds' next league fixture.

Njinko's displays have earned him a place on an eight-player shortlist for the monthly award.

He is up against Kaye Furo of Brentford, Reading's Luke Howard, Manchester United's Jaydan Kamason, Josh Landers of West Ham United, Fulham duo Chibby Nwoko and Jayden Quashie, and Sunderland forward Trey Samuel-Ogunsuyi.
