Leeds United Under-21s continue the defence of the National League Cup by making the short trip to face FC Halifax Town in Group D.

Crowned champions of the inaugural edition of the competition last campaign, Scott Gardner’s side have won once and lost once in their opening two encounters.

After falling to defeat against Boston United in the opener, the Whites roared back to winning ways with a scintillating 3-1 victory over Scunthorpe United.

Dominating from the off in Lincolnshire, Leeds secured all three points courtesy of a Harry Gray hat-trick at the Attis Arena.

Most recently, United continued their impressive start to the Premier League Cup with a 2-0 success over Spanish outfit Athletic Club B, thanks to second half goals from skipper Alfie Cresswell and youngster Logan White.

Leeds sit fifth in the standings as they look to qualify in the top two positions. Halifax, meanwhile, are third having won their opening fixture with a 2-1 triumph over Middlesbrough U21s.

In this fixture last season, United were victorious over their West Yorkshire rivals on penalties after the scores were level at 2-2 following 90 minutes, with Rhys Chadwick amongst the goals.

Action from the Shay gets underway at 7pm.
