Monique Watson has become the latest recruit for Leeds United Women, joining as the fourth addition of an exciting summer so far.

The 2022/23 FA Women’s National League Player of the Season signs from Stoke City, where she made 27 appearances last term in all competitions.

Watson has linked up with Simon Wood’s squad and in contention to make her debut in this afternoon’s clash at Chester-le-Street Town, she is looking forward to getting started for the Whites.

“It feels really exciting,” Monique explained. “I have grown up in Leeds so it feels like a bit of a full circle moment.

“I am a bit of a leader – small but quite strong, powerful and quick. I think I am a good teammate and others would describe me that way.

“I have been to a few matches already and spoken to a few of the fans. They were really nice even though I don’t know them and they don’t know me!

“Leeds fans are honestly one of the best sets of fans in the world and hopefully we will see that at our games.”
