The match officials for Leeds United’s trip to The Den on Sunday against Millwall have been confirmed, with Chris Kavanagh set to take charge.

The Lancashire based official, from Ashton-under-Lyne, is part of the Select Group 1 list of referees and has been officiating in the Premier League since 2017 and was added to FIFA's international referees list in 2019.

Kavanagh last refereed Leeds United at the end of last season, with the Whites defeated away at AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League.

In total, Kavanagh has overseen 20 Leeds fixtures in the past, with the Whites winning seven, drawing four and losing nine of those.  He has issued 38 yellow cards and two red cards to Leeds players.  Kavanagh has also given Leeds two penalty kicks, with three given against.

For Millwall, Kavanagh has refereed nine previous matches, with the Lions winning three, drawing twice and losing on four occasions.  He has issued 11 yellow cards and one red card to Millwall players, whilst the London outfit have been awarded three penalties by Kavanagh, conceding one.

He last took charge of Millwall in August 2022, with Reading running out 1-0 winners at The Den in the Sky Bet Championship.

This season, Kavanagh has only been the man in the middle on one occasion, returning last weekend in Sky Bet League Two, as MK Dons played out a 1-1 draw with Notts County.
