The match officials for Leeds United’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Middlesbrough on Tuesday have been announced, with Ben Toner set to take charge at Elland Road.

Since making his EFL debut in a League Two clash between York City and Burton Albion back in 2015, the Lancashire-based official has amassed over 250 appearances in the Football League.

During that time, Toner has also overseen two finals: Bolton Wanderers’ 4-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle to lift the EFL Trophy in 2023, before officiating Crawley Town’s 2-0 triumph over Crewe Alexandra under the Wembley Arch last campaign in the League Two Play-Offs.

Tuesday’s clash will be Toner’s first ever fixture involving the Whites, whilst he has refereed Middlesbrough three times to date.

In those matches, the Teesside outfit have won once and lost once in the Carabao Cup, with their only league outing coming last season as they edged out Huddersfield Town 2-1 away from home.

2024/25 stats:

Games (all competitions): 17

Yellow cards issued: 91

Red cards issued: 3

Other match officials selected:

Assistant referees: Andrew Fox & Richard Woodward

Fourth official: Oliver Langford
