Mick Wood gave his thoughts to LUTV after seeing his side exit the FAWNL Cup, away at Wolves Women.
The hosts play in a higher division to the Leeds, but in what was a competitive game until the very end, the Whites gave a solid account of themselves away from home.
“I thought the girls were absolutely immense, especially the second half,” Wood explained.
"The first half I thought we maybe gave them a bit too much respect, but we still played well, we hit the bar and we had some other chances.
"We went in at half-time and explained to them to calm down a bit and we made a couple of tactical changes."
After dominating for large spells in the second period, Laura Bartup pulled a goal back for the Whites but Wolves netted in the final seconds of the game to wrap the tie up.
“They’ve got the third goal right at the end and I don’t think we deserved that,” Wood reflected.
“We were pressing and pushing them back looking for the equaliser, we got the goal back to make it 2-1 and tried to then get another.
“I felt all the players were brilliant today, they gave it everything.
“It’s just a case of recovering now, taking the positives from it and looking ahead to the next game.”
