Leeds United forward Mateo Joseph has been nominated for this year's PL2 Player of the Season award, after a brilliant campaign that culminated in Leeds United's U21s getting promoted to Division 1.
Joseph has been in electric form this season, ending it as the PL2 Division 2's joint-top goalscorer, having scored 16 goals in 21 games.
A January 2022 signing from Espanyol, Joseph has played in all but one of the U21s march to promotion, including Monday's 3-0 play-off final win over Nottingham Forest.
The forward set the tone early on, as he kicked off his campaign with four goals in the season opener against Derby County, before hat-tricks against Stoke and Middlesbrough throughout the season.
Captaining the U21s side for the majority of the season, Joseph's performances led to the 19-year old making his first team debut in the EFL Cup clash against Wolves at Molineux.
A few days later, he'd also make his first Premier League appearance against Tottenham, before featuring against Man United, Chelsea, Cardiff and Accrington Stanley.
Joseph's form for the Academy also led to an international call-up, as he joined up with England's Young Lions, scoring a brace and providing an assist on his U20s debut, before battling to a 1-1 draw against France.
Joseph faces tough competition for this year's PL2 Player of the Season award, with Dominic Ballard (Southampton), Oscar Bobb (Man City), Carlos Borges (Man City), Reyes Cleary (West Brom), Alfie Gilchrist (Chelsea), Adedire Mebude (Man City) and Jack Wells-Morrison (Crystal Palace) all in contention.
Nominees were selected by the Premier League Football Development Panel after PL2 club coaches proposed the best performances by opposing players throughout the season.
The panel will decide the winner, who will be announced next week.
