Marcelo Bielsa has spoken to the media after his Leeds United side progressed to Round Four of the Carabao Cup.
The Whites drew the match 0-0 at Craven Cottage, but held their nerve to win on penalties in West London.
“It was a very difficult game,” Bielsa explained.
“It was defined by penalties and it is less about who deserved it.
"There was a lot of 50/50s, but it wasn’t difficult for us to elaborate the play. We conceded too many chances to the opponent.
“We had plenty of chances to score, of course you aspire to score them but what worried me more was that we conceded too many chances in the first and second half.”
Leeds were able to give opportunities to younger members of the team, with a number of players missing through injury or suspension
On the changes, Bielsa said: “We have a group of 18 players plus the support of the young players.
“From the group of 18, nine were missing today. But, the young players managed to contribute and the absences weren’t too bad.”
