Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media ahead of Tuesday’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Preston North End.

The Whites travel across the Pennines to Deepdale, looking for back to back wins in the division.

Bielsa gave an update on team news ahead of the fixture and showed his admiration for Preston who sit just two points behind the Whites in the table.

“The team for Tuesday will be the same again,” said Bielsa.

“Pablo (Hernandez), we think is not going to be able to play this week.

“It is a different injury, the last injury was in the calf and now it is in the hamstring.

“For me, Preston last season were one of the teams who play better in the Championship.

“I like their style of play, their players have good skills to manage the ball, they have a great midfield and it is a team who have players at a good level in front of their midfield.

“It is not a surprise where they are because of what we saw last season.”

Bielsa also spoke about how he has prepared his players for the short turn around in fixtures.

He said: “Resting is the most important for the players, with some brief and powerful stimulants on the pitch.

“When we have more days, we have more possibilities to give more messages because you can put those messages in a period of time.

“In a brief period if you give a lot of messages, after the players could be a little bit more tired.

“For competing in the Championship you have to be well in a fitness sense, but also mentally.”
