The Leeds United Foundation are offering local schools the opportunity to host action-packed fundraising events that will help to engage, motivate and inspire young students.

There are currently two different options available to help raise funds for both your school and Leeds United's official charity that help support vulnerable people in the local community - the two options are dependent on the level of funds you are looking to raise and the amount of input you’d like from staff at the Foundation.

The simplest initiative is holding a ‘Blue, White and Yellow Day’ with young students asked to bring a minimum donation (suggested £2) and the chance to wear the club colours to school for one day only, as part of the activity there can also be a best dressed competition with the club able to offer a variety of prizes for the winners.

Alternatively, you could host a full day of sports activities involving every class throughout the day – this can be delivered by teachers or coaches at the charity. Students would be asked to fill out a sponsor form to take part in a penalty shootout or footballing challenge at some point throughout the day, with an itinerary for the day organised by Leeds United Foundation staff. Each child that takes part in the sponsored activity will also be entered into a raffle with the chance to win plenty of prizes, including; match tickets, merchandise, stadium tour etc.

All of the funds raised from the activity chosen can then be split between the school and the Leeds United Foundation and each school has the option to then either spend funds on key educational materials or they can spend it back with the club’s official charity with a number of different options available, such as; group stadium tours, sports day delivery, collapsed curriculum and take-over days etc.

Staff and coaches from the Foundation will be on hand to support and help the delivery of the chosen activity throughout and will attend an assembly in the week leading up to the event with a special guest appearance from Leeds United mascot, Lucas the Kop Cat. This will help to get the children excited and motivated and is the perfect chance to tell the pupils all about their fun day ahead.
