Leeds United’s fixture against Burnley on Friday 1st May will be a dedicated Green Matchday, highlighting our recently launched All Green, All Leeds sustainability programme.
All Green, All Leeds was launched at the beginning of March, and it sets the direction for the club’s environmental sustainability efforts, built around two strategic pillars: adapting our business and engaging and inspiring fans.
This Green Matchday will help to bring the campaign to life, with activity across the stadium and club channels designed to showcase various steps the club is taking, raise awareness of the programme and encourage supporters to play their part.
Supporters will see All Green, All Leeds featured throughout the matchday experience, including:
Big screen content pre-match highlighting the campaign
Matchday programme coverage, including dedicated sustainability features
Branded graphics and messaging across club channels
A pitchside banner moment involving players and mascots
In the concourses, fans will be able to take advantage of some discounted green matchday special options, including a banger and bean pie and vegan loaded chips, with drinks as always served in compostable cups. In hospitality, a green matchday menu will also be in place for guests.
We will then be encouraging fans to get involved through a sustainability survey, which will be circulated on Sunday to all home fans in attendance. The survey will help the club better understand supporter attitudes and identify opportunities to take further action together.
The matchday builds on recent content shared as part of All Green, All Leeds, bringing together details of the work already taking place across Elland Road, Thorp Arch and the club’s wider activities on sustainability.
The Green Matchday forms part of a wider effort to use the club’s platform to drive positive environmental action. Friday evening’s fixture provides an opportunity for everyone at Elland Road to come together and support a more sustainable future for the club and the game.
