Leeds United along with Marching Out Together are proud to announce that the club will act as an infrastructure sponsor for Leeds Pride 2024.

Now in its 19th year, the parade and day-long event will take place on Sunday 21st July and will celebrate the diversity within the city and also act as a platform for education whilst highlighting the ongoing fight for quality and inclusion.

Leeds Pride is one of the biggest one-day festivals in Leeds City Centre and continues to grow year-on-year with over 70,000 people choosing to visit last year. This is a testament to the progress and acceptance achieved over the years, but there is still work to be done, and the club will continue to support and help where possible to ensure members of the LGBTQ+ community feel empowered to be their true selves.

Leeds United’s strong support for its official LGBTQ+ fan group Marching Out Together continues throughout the year, and this includes promoting the Rainbow Laces and Football v Homophobia campaigns, and the club is also proud to support other initiatives in local schools and within other community organisations.

However, the clubs most visible support for the wider LGBTQ+ community of Leeds is the continued sponsorship of Leeds Pride. Alongside the sponsorship element, there is also representation on the day from staff and former players, with Leeds United also becoming the first club in the UK to have a first-team player attend a Leeds Pride event.

A spokesperson from Marching Out Together said: “It’s fantastic to see once again Leeds United proudly announce their sponsorship of Leeds Pride this year. It sends out such a powerful message of support to the LGBTQ+ community.

“We are now working with the club to ensure we enjoy another successful day at the wonderful Leeds Pride, and our thanks go to all those players and staff at Leeds United who give such valuable support throughout the year to the work of Marching Out Together.”

If any Leeds United supporters would like to show their continued support for members of Marching Out Together and the local LGBTQ+ community, it would be fantastic to see you at the Pride Parade on Sunday 21st July.
