The Leeds United Foundation recently invited both Primary and Secondary schools from the local community to take part in an Internet Safety Day at Elland Road.
The students in attendance were able to learn about how to look for signs of a scam online and how to stay safe while using the internet. They also took part in an activity where they had to be a ‘profile detective’ to see how easy it is to get information about someone online.
The afternoon at Elland Road ended on a high with the students having a tour around stadium, whilst also having the opportunity to meet the Leeds United mascot, Lucas the Kop Cat.
One of the teachers that was in attendance on the day of the event, said: “We have had a great day at Elland Road and the students have taken away some valuable information on staying safe on the internet. The tour around Elland Road was amazing and a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our pupils.”
Safer Internet Day is an annual awareness event that takes place every February (Tuesday 11th February 2025) and offers a chance to focus on the online safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
