Leeds United College are pleased to announce a new partnership that will see a number of educational courses available for students in Australia through the Australian Football Services (AUSFS).
The courses that will be made available for young students as part of this exciting new agreement are MBA Football Business, MSC Sports and Exercise Psychology and MSC Advanced Sports Performance.
Longford International College and Rushford Business School are also delighted to be part of this partnership, providing diploma and degree level courses that are pracademic in their approach, allowing a sensible balance of the academic rigor needed for a degree with the practical grounding required by employers.
AUSFS provides a broad football service, with the organisation primarily representing young Australian players, organising international and domestic football tournaments whilst also focusing on youth development and sports education while also working to bring elite Australian players to Europe.
The sports education element is all about increasing abilities, providing opportunities for young footballers and coaches to gain qualifications, whilst also expanding unique club cultures and exploring different cultural interactions through football which is where the relationship with Leeds United College started.
Through the link-up with Leeds United College further training and education will be provided within the football set-up, with increased opportunities for students on a number of different programmes and courses. Although football is the primary focus, the courses available through this new partnership will also have a real focus on training and education, improving knowledge around other areas of sport that is key for those who further down the line may wish to pursue a career within the industry that doesn’t involve playing.
AUSFS founder Engin Durmus has expressed his excitement at the partnership, saying: "We are delighted to have formed a partnership agreement with Leeds United College, linking into one of the most historical clubs in the world, Leeds United.
“Our aim will be to promote the wonderful and extensive list of courses offered by the college to coaches, students and athletes all over Australia who are planning a career in football or the sporting field in general. We are extremely excited to see what the future will bring."
Prof Vincent English, President at Longford College, said: “Longford College is delighted to be involved in this exciting education initiative to the universal influence of football for the greater good. Education is the right of passage for many to a better life and we are happy to be a part of that.”
Spencer Taylor, Director of Education for the Leeds United College, added: “We are really happy to announce this new partnership with Australian Football Services, adding to the fantastic international partnerships we’ve already established over the last few years.
“It will be really exciting to see this partnership develop over the next few months with a number of great courses already available for young students in Australia to enrol on.”
The relationship between Leeds United College and AUSFS will continue to grow over the coming months, with other initiatives in the pipeline, so make sure you keep an eye out on any new opportunities that become available.
