Leeds United Women FC took on Bradford City on Wednesday night in the first Yorkshire derby of the 2019/20 campaign but unfortunately just before half-time the game had to be abandoned after a clash of heads.
Leeds United player Molly Havard and Bradford City's Chelsea Sandford, who used to play for the Whites, were both involved in the collision and were both badly injured which meant the decision was made to have the game called off.
Both players spent the night at Bradford Royal Infirmary receiving treatment, Molly has suffered a dislocated jaw and Chelsea has a serious head wound. They have now been discharged and we wish both players a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing them back on the pitch soon.
An announcement with regards to the rearranged fixture will be made shortly.
