Kirstie Hunt spoke to LUTV after scoring the match winner for Leeds United Women, in their season opener on Sunday afternoon.
The Whites got off to a perfect start to the new campaign by overcoming Stockport County Ladies, with the goal coming in the final seconds of the match.
“I am absolutely buzzing,” Hunt told LUTV.
“We all just wanted to get off to a great start. We got three points to start the season off, we can’t ask for much more than that.
“I didn’t have any other opportunities to score in the match, so I was delighted when I took that one late on.
“We were all desperate to get the three points today, so hopefully we can push on now for the rest of the season.
“The manager told me to come on try and make an impact and just work hard.”
The Whites travel to Chorley next Sunday who were also victorious on the opening day of the season, beating Bradford City 2-1.
“Hopefully it’ll be the same again next week when we travel to Chorley, we want to start where we left off today,” Hunt concluded.
