Leeds United Women manager, Dan O’Hearne spoke to LUTV following the 1-0 victory over Stockport County.

The Whites put on a strong display creating plenty of chances, as they got their campaign off to a perfect start.

The side are now looking ahead to next week, when they have an away clash with Chorley at Blainscough Park.

“A clean sheet and three points, I couldn’t ask for much more,” explained O’Hearne.

“We created a lot of chances, we’ve been banging them in for fun in pre-season but I thought it was going to end 0-0.

“When the goal when in, and for it to be in the last minute, it was unbelievable.

“I thought it might be a case of ‘one of those days’ as we missed quite a few big chances, so I was scared Stockport were going to nick one on the counter attack if I’m honest.

“Thankfully we kept going to the end and managed to get all three points.

“The players who came off the bench know what jobs they have to do. I changed it at half time and brought Kanisha (Kanisha-Mae Underdown) on for a bit more security in the midfield.

“We’ve got a lot to work on, but I’m really pleased with the result today.”

The Whites travel to Chorley next week looking to continue their good form and they will be looking to add another three points, at this early stage of the season.

“No games in this league are easy,” O’Hearne said ahead of the next match.

“We’re just focusing on each game at a time and try get the next three points.

“Hopefully we’re going to score more of our chances and carry this momentum into next week.”
